PRODUCTION NEWS
Product: Caddy Pak
Objective: To introduce a new golf accessory on TV prior to its sale at retail. The Caddy Pak is a portable
ball washer that attaches easily to a belt loop or golf bag. Although the Caddy Pak cannot claim to lower golfers'
scores, it can improve their chances because the ball runs more accurately when it is cleaned -- particularly important
on the putting green.
In both a one-minute and a two-minute format, we demonstrated the convenience of having a compact, efficient ball
cleaning device. It's handier than stationary ball washers, less cumbersome than towels, tidier than wiping the
ball on clothing, and safer than golfers popping the golf ball in their mouths, thereby exposing themselves to
the dangerous chemical fertilizers used on golf courses.
Production Challenge: Although the product functions simply, we had to include a lot of different shots
-- quick demonstrations of other ways to clean golf balls, golf shots, putting, and product demonstration. We focused
on the benefits golfers get from using this handy ball cleaner -- speed, convenience, portability. The spots were
shot on location in the Desert Princess Resort in Palm Springs and featured a teaching pro.
